The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation will recognize Stephen R. Polk, chairman/president/CEO of R.L. Polk & Co., and Experian, for expanding DM education at colleges and universities nationwide, the foundation said yesterday.
The DMEF's Educational Leadership and Corporate Leadership Awards will be presented Oct. 11 at the DMEF 26th Annual Awards Dinner and Auction at the Peabody Orlando. The event will occur during the DMA’s 86th Annual Conference.
Polk, the 2003 DMEF Educational Leadership Award recipient, has supported 15 DMEF Collegiate Institute programs since 1989. Polk and his staff have taught students at the institutes. Polk led the first DMEF Advanced Collegiate Institute in 2001 for students who had taken DM courses or who had some DM industry experience.
Polk is a global provider of advanced information services and statistical reporting for automotive and related industries.
Experian, the 2003 DMEF Corporate Leadership Award recipient, has sponsored 15 DMEF Collegiate Institutes — five-day seminars for college seniors majoring in marketing, advertising and database/information systems. Experian has shared its expertise and career knowledge with more than 750 college students.
