“The privacy genie is out of the bottle, and it’s never going back in,” says Neil Sweeney, founder and CEO of Freckle IoT. In this podcast he explains how blockchain can create an environment in which consumers can retain control of their identities, and make their valuable data available to brands in a controlled way, and earn money by doing so. The future, according to Sweeney, will see consumer data housed within blockchain, partitioned from brands, and available for sale, resulting in increased privacy and reduced security risks. It’s a future he’s trying to bring about through Freckle IoT’s Killi a mobile app which allows users to elect to share specific items of personal information in return for payment (and we are talking real money, not BitCoin).
