When someone registers online for the contest, they will become a member of
Away.com, which is free. To be a member, they give us their email address,
first name, last name and zip code. They also have the option of telling us
their preferences for travel and receiving our email newsletter, Your Daily
Escape. We do not sell names to anyone. You can read our privacy policy on
the site. Our member base is very important to us because we can sell
advertising against it and in-turn sell trips to our recurring visitors to
the site. The zip code will help us regionalize our content and ad sales
for Your Daily Escape and other offerings in the future.
We will not be handling post card entries and you'll want to ask OLN what
they plan to do with those names. Those who enter by postcard will not
become Away.com members.
This is a great opportunity to prove our concept of becoming a contest
facilitator for other companies in a b to b play to generate revenue and
more members in the future.
