Amanda Russell, Director, global partner marketing, Red Hat, 31
She has made her career by building and launching innovative and compelling B2C and B2B experiences for Fortune 500 technology companies.
What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?
One of my best achievements at Red Hat has been the way we’ve developed our relationship with Microsoft. In just months, the ex-competitor became one of our most prominent partners. The company is heavily invested in the Better Together campaign and keeps asking if it can do more.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 Under 40 honorees?
As William Arthur Ward said: “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”
What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
I’d like to keep growing my knowledge and bring this expertise to my team and partners to help Red Hat reach its goals.
What is one interesting fact about you that few people know?
My dream job was to go into plastic surgery.
