Gurdeep Dhillon, Global VP of Demand Generation and Nurture, SAP Hybris
Gurdeep lives in Sunnyvale, CA with his wife and three daughters. He spends his non-marketing time coaching youth sports, binge watching TV, cooking, training for Tough Mudder, officiating weddings, and finding good eats and beer. He has an MBA and an MSIS from Boston University, although he would’ve preferred Jedi Master.
What has been your proudest career accomplishment to date?
Actually, it’s as recent as this month of October 2017. The combination of receiving this award and the smashing success of our SAP Hybris LIVE: Global Summit event in Barcelona made me so incredibly proud of what we have accomplished. Cloud nine.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give to future 40 under 40 honorees?
Be the kind of person that others want to work with or for. Challenge yourself and your team to push beyond the status quo. Make failure a requirement, not a fear.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
I’d like to be delivering frictionless, personalized digital experiences for customers who are at any stage of their journey. From a leadership perspective, I’d like to be able to say that everyone on my team achieved their five-year career development goals. And I’d like to stay mentally and physically healthy during all of this so I can be ready for three teenage girls!
What is one interesting face about you that few people know?
I was born in London, England and moved to California when I was a little over a year old. So, score one for immigrants!
