Russell Dyer, Senior Vice President, Chief Communications Officer, and Head of Public and Government Affairs at Mondelēz International, has declared his intent to step down. He plans to shift gears to a new corporate affairs leadership role, with details to be disclosed soon.

During his eight-year tenure at Mondelēz, Dyer played a crucial role in shaping the company’s communications and public affairs policies. This dedication earned him accolades from CEO, Dirk Van de Put, who lauded Russell’s contribution to the company’s overall impact.

Prior to Mondelēz, Dyer was with Kraft in roles including the VP of Corporate Affairs, Associate Director, and Director of Corporate Affairs. His career also includes successful stints at Weber Shandwick, where he was a Director, and HomeSource Real Estate Asset Management, where he held a managerial position.

Mondelēz, the giant behind loved brands such as Oreo, Cadbury, Chips Ahoy, reported a 7.1% boost in net revenue to $9.3 billion in Q4 2023, compared to the previous year.

This increase can be attributed majorly to a rise in organic net revenue of 9.8% and sales increases, courtesy of Ricolino and a new distribution agreement. Overall profit stood at a robust $4.96 billion, with aggregate revenues ringing up to $36.02 billion.

CEO, Dirk Van de Put emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainable growth and creating long-term shareholder value. Despite Dyer’s impending departure, Mondelēz International is poised for continued growth strategy with a focus on enhancing its portfolio and improving margins.

The search for Dyer’s successor at Mondelēz International is now in progress. The company’s recruitment team is exploring both internal and external candidates to fulfill this significant role. The transition promises to be a crucial period as the new leader familiarizes themselves with the operations and strategic objectives of the company, while also working to uphold Dyer’s legacy.
