In Rochester, New York, a unique partnership has been forged between the Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship and a growth firm. The collaboration, announced on July 8, 2024, aims to advance local enterprises by providing essential resources, strategic planning assistance, and development resources to newly established and existing businesses.

The joint initiative, dubbed the ‘Business Growth Accelerator,’ aims to catalyze local business development by promoting innovation, efficiency, and sustainable practices. This accelerator offers many resources, such as workshops, mentorship programs, networking opportunities, financial support, and guidance, all tailored to foster a supportive enterprise environment.

Fifteen businesses from Rochester and Buffalo have been selected to participate in a rigorous 16-week sales-focused program. The businesses come from various sectors, such as technology, retail, healthcare, and finance, testifying to the program’s wide applicability. With various sessions dedicated to practical application, metrics evaluation, and feedback, the participating businesses can anticipate tangible benefits and growth from the program.

Another distinct perk for participants will be exclusive access to an upcoming innovation center, a venture by the Golisano Institute, poised to explore the confluence of corporate strategy and artificial intelligence (AI).

Golisano Institute’s collaborative effort for business growth

The intent is to revolutionize business operations, paving the way for advanced technological integration, efficiency, and productivity.

Dr. Ian Mortimer, head of the Golisano Institute, expressed optimism about the venture. The Institute’s growth partner brings an excellent understanding of market dynamics, making them a crucial ally for this project. The partnership promises to enhance research, development, and the execution of innovative strategies while providing opportunities for faculty and students and fostering a culture of innovative thinking.

Dr. Mortimer highlighted the Institute’s commitment to blending business expertise and AI — confident of the potential opportunities that emerge from such a merger. Implementing AI into businesses can optimize decisions, increase profits, and skyrocket productivity. Stressing continuous learning and adaptation, Dr. Mortimer ended on an optimistic note, reinforcing his belief that AI represented not merely a tool but a paradigm shift in business strategies and customer experiences.
