Apple has announced a new service program to address a specific issue with the iPhone 14 Plus. This program targets units sold between April 10th, 2023, and April 28th, 2024. According to reports, a “very small percentage” of these devices are affected.
The identified issue involves the rear camera, which fails to show a preview. This problem is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Plus and does not affect the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, or 14 Pro Max models. To check if your phone is affected, users can enter their phone’s serial number on the Apple support page.
The service program covers these iPhones for three years from the original date of purchase.

During this period, Apple will resolve the issue free of charge, provided there is no other damage to the device.
If users have already repaired the issue, they can request a refund. This likely requires documentation that the repair was done by an Apple Authorized Service Provider. For those whose phones meet the criteria, Apple will verify eligibility for the service.
Users then have several options: visiting an Apple Authorized Service Provider, making an appointment at an Apple Store, or contacting Apple Support to arrange a mail-in service. Apple has previously launched similar service programs to address issues with its products. In October 2021, Apple offered free repairs to users who experienced crackling audio issues on certain devices.
As a standard precaution, Apple advises users to back up their data in the cloud before sending their devices off for repair to ensure their information is safe.
