Several school districts in San Antonio and Austin are currently experiencing internet outages. The Texas Education Service Center, Region 20, which serves schools in Bexar County and surrounding areas, confirmed that it is facing interruptions to its internet services and limited phone connectivity. The internet service provider, Zayo, acknowledged the issue.

Bree Woods, Zayo’s senior corporate communications manager, stated, “Zayo is aware of the situation impacting school districts in Region 20. We have crews on-site and are working to restore service as soon as possible.”

North East ISD confirmed that the outage is district-wide, with spokesperson Aubrey Chancellor explaining that a major fiber line was cut, resulting in the loss of internet access. However, no time frame has been given for the repair.
