The mobile gaming industry continues to grow, with both revenue and downloads on the rise. As 2024 comes to a close, we look at the most downloaded mobile games and the key trends that have dominated the charts. Roblox maintains its position as the most downloaded game with an estimated 211.9 million downloads worldwide.
This marks its second consecutive year at the top. Block Blast by Hungry Studio climbed from fourth place in 2023 to second place in 2024 with 205.9 million installs. These figures are expected to increase as the holiday season continues.
Subway Surfers by SYBO Games ranked third with 172.3 million downloads. Pizza Ready, a new entry by Supercent, accumulated 168.4 million downloads. Ludo King by Gametion rounded out the top five with 167.3 million installs.
Twelve titles achieved over 100 million downloads, and the total number of mobile game downloads for the year reached 53.2 billion, marking a 2.1% increase from 2023.
Roblox remains top in 2024 downloads
South Korean publisher Supercent has seen substantial growth, amassing 483.7 million downloads in 2024.
Key to this success was their game Pizza Ready, a pizza restaurant simulation that launched in July 2023. Other hits include Burger Please and Outlets Rush, contributing significantly to Supercent’s rank as the 10th largest games publisher by downloads. JindoBlu’s Offline Games – No Wifi Games garnered 127.7 million downloads, making it a notable newcomer and ranking eighth overall.
Its global success, particularly in India, Brazil, and the United States, is attributed to its collection of over 20 minigames that can be played without an internet connection. Notable is the absence of new releases in the top 25 most downloaded games. The most recent release, Wood Screw Puzzle by Zego Studio, launched in December 2023 and ranks 18th.
My Supermarket Simulator 3D, which launched in July 2024, is the highest-ranking new release for the year with 71.5 million downloads, placing 39th overall. Supercell’s Brawl Stars experienced a significant resurgence in downloads, achieving 92.7 million installs and ranking 16th globally. This is a marked improvement from its 176th place in 2023, reflecting the game’s rising popularity and Supercell’s effective user acquisition strategies.
In summary, 2024 has been a year of sustained growth and consistent favorites in the mobile gaming sector, with standout performances from established titles and a few significant newcomers.
