Jessica Jensen has been named Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at LinkedIn, the company announced today. Jensen, who previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Indeed, will assume her new role on January 21, reporting to Chief Operating Officer Dan Shapero. With over 25 years of experience, Jensen brings a wealth of expertise to the position.
She has held leadership roles at Facebook, Apple, Yahoo, and OpenTable throughout her career. In her new role, Jensen will oversee global marketing, brand, and corporate strategy for LinkedIn. The company has praised Jensen’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the B2B marketplace, believing her skills will drive growth for the platform.

The appointment comes eight months after the departure of Melissa Selcher, who served as LinkedIn’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for four years. Jensen’s role has been newly created, combining marketing and strategy responsibilities. LinkedIn has been making strides in integrating AI tools for its users, enhancing functionalities for posting, hiring, and selling.
The platform has also seen success with video content, experiencing a 36% increase in video views year-over-year. Financial results have underscored this momentum, with a 10% year-on-year increase in revenue. As Jensen steps into her new role, she will be tasked with maintaining and building upon LinkedIn’s strong brand while driving the company’s marketing and strategic vision forward.
