The US Postal Service announced the winners of its top-performing suppliers in 2008 today. For the first time in 19 years of presenting the awards, the agency gave a Supplier Sustainability Excellence award, recognizing significant documented achievements in green business practices that help the Postal Service achieve its sustainability goals and reduce its carbon footprint.
The winner was Bell Incorporated, a small business that provides expedited packaging paperboard envelopes and related services.
An additional special award recognizes suppliers for diversity efforts that have had a positive impact on Postal Service diversity goals. The winner was Cleanwise LLC, which also won a Supplier Performance award.
Other winners in the performance and excellence categories were BGA, Inc., A ConEdison Solutions Company; First Script Network Services; Tarheel Paper and Supply Company; W. W. Grainger, Inc.; Western Industrial Contractors and Wheeler Bros., Inc.
