In blogs we trust

According to a Twitter post I came across (Deric Loh) that linked to an article on a site called Sheconomy, a new survey of American women from Blogher.com shows women have a high level of trust when it comes to the blogosphere. A whopping 36.2 million women apparently participate in the world of blogs, half say blogs influence purchase decisions and nearly half would give up their PDA to stay connected to their favorite blogs!

While I don’t follow that many blogs myself — other than my current Twitter addiction — it’s obvious that marketers of products attractive to women should definitely consider blogs as an integral part of a marketing campaign. I’ll be addressing this issue, btw, in a feature story about using word-of-mouth to market laptop computers in our 4/20 print edition. Don’t forget to check it out!
