David Thompson, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Ustream

David Thompson is Ustream’s senior vice president of marketing. Since joining Ustream in 2012, he’s grown the company’s marketing footprint more than 2x and continues to evangelize the company’s vision to make live video streaming, mainstream. As Ustream’s SVP of marketing, David oversees all marketing, product marketing, branding, and communications efforts.

A veteran in the SaaS business, David has more than 20 years of startup and established software experience. Prior to joining Ustream, David was the CEO and co-founder of marketing automation company Genius.com, where he grew the company to more than 70 employees, achieved over 2,000 percent revenue growth and raised more than $45 million in venture capital from top-tier venture capital firms such as Accel and MDV. David also served as chief marketing officer of WebEx, where he named and launched the company, positioned it as a leading business brand and managed award-winning branding campaigns and IPO communications.

He is a graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in humanities.
