German utility companies need all the help they can get to comply with today’s government regulations. Without outside help, it seems impossible to escape the morass of red tape. Like every great escape artist, ENTEGA Services realized it always helps to have an outside man. ENTEGA, which helps utilities stay compliant, worked with Ogilvy- One Worldwide GmbH to devise an “escape plan” for decision makers in the industry. A book, disguised as a collection of rules, hid a metal escape file and directions to “Freedom” — an ENTEGA trade fair booth. Admission tickets were sent in a follow-up mailing, enticing 18% of recipient companies to make appointments with ENTEGA.

Pet owners love their furry companions almostas much as they love their kids. But, while they make sure Junior finishes his broccoli, they don’t always think about what they put in their dog’s dish. Advance Pet Food wanted to change that and drive retail sales at key stores, so a simple but eye-catching mailer was created: a big, floppy dog tongue that made mailboxes look like hungry pooches. The tongues, placed in the mailboxes of people who live near an Advance retailer, came with cards that explained the nutritional benefits of Advance Pet Food. The cards also gave a Web address featuring a store locator tool.
