The advertising media company named Ruud Wanck global chief operating officer for GroupM Interaction, a new
position.

President Dominic Proctor, made the announcement today, adding that Wanck’s appointment is effective
immediately.
“The creation of this new global role and Ruud’s
appointment is designed to further our position in the media services
marketplace for the benefit of our stakeholders,” Proctor said in making the
announcement. “At the same time, we want to expand the competitive
advantage we bring to our clients and ensure that GroupM and our agencies
proactively shape the future and maintain leadership in this space.”
Wanck, who currently serves as chief digital officer for GroupM EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), will retain
those responsibilities and also join the company’s Global Executive
Committee.
Wanck previously also served as chairman of GroupM in the
Benelux countries, and worked at GroupM agency MEC and in the digital
advertising sector as an entrepreneur. He has a degree in Physics and Business
Economics and is co-author of the Dutch best-selling digital handbook,
“Internet Advertising & Marketing.”
Wanck’s new job duties will include GroupM’s digital operations, digital technology, platform strategies and digital trading development in North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia Pacific. He will work closely with Rob Norman, global chief digital officer, and support the continued development of GroupM companies such as Xaxis, Quisma, and other digital businesses.

further maximizing the performance of WPP’s media communications agencies in
digital on a global level.”
Norman added: “GroupM Interaction is responsible
for developing a consistent approach to operations, data processes and tools to
allow our agencies to function more efficiently. By creating this new global
role it is the intention of GroupM to further leverage our assets and empower
each of the Interactive agencies in the group and make us smarter and more
competitive.”
