Printer Quad/Graphics announced on Feb. 1 it acquired Williamson Printing Corporation, a 128-year-old printer that specializes in short- to medium-run catalogs, books, direct mail and promotional products.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Williamson’s two Dallas-based facilities will join Quad/Graphics’ Commercial and Specialty group, which provides publishers, marketers and retailers with specialized print products and services, including marketing materials, custom binding, and mailing and fulfillment.The group has rebranded as QuadWilliamson.
Williamson Printing Corporation had annual sales of $21 million, said Claire Ho, director of corporate communications at Quad/Graphics. She said that “most” of the company’s 120 employees are being retained. “The vast majority of employees were offered positions and accepted them,” she said.
Jesse Williamson, president of Williamson Printing, will continue in his leadership role, according to Quad/Graphics.
“We’re both innovative printers at heart, and we’re passionate about print’s crucial role in today’s multimedia landscape,” he said in a statement.
