The SolutionSet MediaWhiz Partnership has named Michael Miller CMO. He will manage the agency’s marketing and growth initiatives in the newly created position, reporting to Zain Raj, the firm’s president and CEO.
Miller will work with the agency’s executive leadership team to develop comprehensive marketing solutions. His first day at the company will be Sept. 19. Raj said he was unsure how many employees he will oversee, but it will be determined once he joins the company.
“We have a set of offerings that are completely differentiated,” said Raj. “We needed to bring in a CMO that could take all our offerings and make them relevant and compelling.”
Miller most recently served as EVP and chief growth officer of MRM Worldwide. He left the agency in July after more than three years there. Miller has also served as senior partner and director of business development at agency G2 Worldwide and director of business development at technology consultancy Starpoint Solutions.
The SolutionSet MediaWhiz Partnership was formed last month. Ed Kats was promoted to CEO of its MediaWhiz division later that month.
Neither SolutionSet nor MediaWhiz had a CMO prior to the merger, and the company did not look to fill the position internally. “Because we never had a CMO at either of the companies, there was nobody at that caliber.”
The company worked with recruiter Ben Barnes, managing partner of GRN San Francisco, to fill the position.
The partnership’s clients include Adidas, AT&T and American Express Co.
