Huge named digital AOR for Comcast.com

Cable provider Comcast has named interactive agency Huge the digital agency of record for Comcast.com.

Brooklyn, NY-based Huge, an Interpublic Group agency, will be responsible for the site’s digital strategy and design. It will also work on online, mobile and social customer-service initiatives for Comcast.com.

“The main responsibility is to push the customer experience for Comcast’s digital ecosystem,” said Aaron Shapiro, CEO of Huge. He added that Huge’s work includes customer prospecting through the site and e-commerce management.

Shapiro declined to comment in detail on the agency’s mobile and social work for Comcast.com. He said that some of Huge’s work on Comcast.com is live but “the bulk will go live over the next few months.” Peter Dobrow, executive director of corporate communications at Comcast, confirmed the agency hire but referred requests for comment to an agency statement.

John Williamson, SVP and general manager of Comcast.com, cited “Huge’s experience in digital business and e-commerce across so many industries” and its “focus on using design and technology to make life easier for people” in a statement about the hire.

Huge worked on the visual and interactive design of Target Brands‘ e-commerce site, which the retailer relaunched earlier this week.

Comcast invited nine firms to participate in a formal RFP process before hiring Huge in March, said a source close to the hire.

Comcast also works with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners on creative, according to Adweek. Digitas serves as the company’s acquisition AOR for consumer products and handles creative, direct and CRM work.
