Virgin America and The Hertz Corp. have partnered to give members of the airline’s Elevate loyalty program exclusive deals on Hertz rental cars. Elevate members who rent cars from Hertz will earn one point per $1 spent on qualifying rentals.
The two companies are offering double points and up to 35% off rentals of two days or more through December 31 to promote the partnership. Virgin America will pitch the offer to Elevate members via email and to the general public through online ads, said Patricia Condon, PR and events manager at Virgin America.
Virgin also partners with Avis Rent A Car and Budget Rent A Car.
“We’re really excited about this new partnership,” said Condon. “Now we have three of the world’s largest car-rental companies aligned to give Elevate members another business-travel option on the ground.”
Virgin America launched the “Breath of Fresh Air” campaign in April, giving each consumer who interacted with an online video a chance to win a plane ticket. In March, the company launched a corporate rewards program for small- and medium-sized businesses called Elevate Inc.
