Quad/Graphics will print five of Hearst Magazines’ consumer titles, Good Housekeeping; O, The Oprah Magazine; Harper’s Bazaar; House Beautiful and Veranda, effective January 2011.
The agreement, announced March 31, expands the current relationship between the two companies. Hearst now uses the Publisher’s Studio, a print management platform from QuadSystems, Quad/Graphics’ software subsidiary, to manage advertising workflows for its 15 US magazine titles.
The companies said in a statement that Quad/Graphics’ co-mail program was also a driver behind the deal.
Representatives from both companies were not immediately available for comment.
Quad/Graphics’ January acquisition of Worldcolor is expected to close this summer. The company has also purchased a stake in HGI Company. J. Crew recently extended its catalog printing contract with Quad/Graphics.
