Talbots’ new Web site focuses on customer service

The Talbots Inc. has relaunched its Web site with new functionality intended to align the online shopping experience more closely with its in-store product offerings and to enhance customer service.

The new site is powered by ATG and includes new sections such as “Pearls of Wisdom,” where users can find expert fashion advice on the latest styles and Talbots collections. It also features “Style Advisor,” a personal shopping service to help users find a specific outfit, item or gift; the ability to create a personalized area where preferences and a wish list can be stored; and a sale section highlighting weekly online specials, savings and in-store events.

“Our new website is designed to provide functionality that informs, inspires and helps our customer shop,” said Lori Wagner, CMO at Talbots, in a statement. “Talbots has always prided itself on exceptional customer service, and we felt it was necessary to extend that service online.”

Also appearing on the new Web site as well as in stores and in the September Talbots catalog is a new pant fit initiative featuring three new styles of pants to complement women’s different shapes and sizes. A video designed to educate customers about the different fits appears on the Web site.
