The active package insert program (PIP) universe was 412.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2008, up 63 million from the same period in 2007, according to a report released by ParadyszMatera.
However, the average change in universe size for individual PIPs was -1.8% between Q4 2008 and Q4 2007. Amazon’s PIP had the largest individual universe at 102 million.
The average rate base cost per thousand for package insert programs was $61.29 for the fourth quarter, up from $61.12 the previous year.
Over the past two years, the package insert program universe gained nearly 89MM overall.
