Active Interest Media (AIM) and F+W Media Inc. are swapping assets in the log and timber homes and art categories under an agreement announced today.
AIM, which already has a log and timber group, Home Buyer Publications based in Chantilly, VA, is acquiring the log and timber group from F+W. That group includes magazines Country’s Best Log Homes, Log Homes Illustrated, Custom Wood Homes, and Timber Homes Illustrated; a home show, the Log & Timber Expo; and an online operation, the Log & Timber Network.
In turn, F+W acquired Southwest Art, The Collector’s Guide and their respective online properties.
The monthly Southwest Art and the annual Collector’s Guide will be published without interruption under the current staff. HBP will now publish Log Home Living monthly, Country’s Best Log Homes and Timber Home Living, both eight times yearly, and Custom Wood Homes six times a year. Log Home Design, Log Homes Illustrated and Timber Homes Illustrated will be folded into the remaining titles.
HBP also will consolidate its home shows under the umbrella of the Log & Timber Home Shows. The company also will maintain The Log & Timber Network but it will have a distinct mission from HBP’s current site, LogHome.com, according to a release.
