A new luxury magazine, Prestige New York, is slated to launch nationwide in February 2009.
The CR Media publication, which has sister titles in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Hong Kong, is targeted to wealthy tastemakers. Prestige’s debut issue in the US will be distributed to a controlled circulation of 50,000 households, mainly in New York. CR Media maintains a proprietary list of “ultra-affluent” prospects.
“Despite the world’s economic woes, the ultra-affluent are still spending,” said Jane Leong, founding director and group CEO of CR Media Pte Ltd., in a statement. “However, reaching them is the marketing challenge. Our targeted circulation strategy is a key advantage because it enables Prestige New York to offer an enticing environment where luxury brands meet their customers one-on-one in the privacy of their own homes.”
Rhonda Palmer, the international editor of Prestige Singapore, will move to the role of editor-in-chief of the US edition. Bob Guccione Jr., who most recently served as chairman of Discover Media, is working as a US consultant to the company.
Editorial will cover social issues, events, fashion, art, travel, interior design and collectibles.
