E-mail services firm StrongMail Systems Inc. has hired Bill Griffin as CFO, to address its infrastructure as the firm continues to grow.
Griffin has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, including senior management positions at InsWeb, Inference Corporation and Ernst & Young. As CFO, Griffin will manage all finance, administration and human resource activities for StrongMail Systems and report directly to StrongMail CEO Sam Cece.
“The company has grown fairly significantly in the past four years and the growth has put a strain on the infrastructure of the company,” said Griffin. “My first assignment is to put my arms around this growth and to build an accounting team to help manage it.”
Prior to joining StrongMail, Griffin served as CFO of InsWeb Corp. for six years, where he was responsible for accounting, finance, investor relations and treasury. Before that, he was co-founder/EVP of ZipSend Inc., an Internet infrastructure company.
Before ZipSend, Griffin was CFO of Inference Corporation and worked on private placements and launched the company’s initial public offering.
Griffin began his career as a certified public accountant at Ernst & Young. He holds a BA in business economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
