Technology firm Sybase iAnywhere has plans to will bring an e-mail services platform to the Apple iPhone within its upcoming Information Anywhere product.
Information Anywhere will let IT organizations deliver Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange e-mail to iPhone users.
The new platform will give users access to the native e-mail client on the iPhone without requiring a firm to enable IMAP in their Lotus Domino or Microsoft Exchange environments. In addition, e-mail is available for offline use so the user does not have to be in a Wi-Fi hotspot.
iAnywhere currently supports more than 230 Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm-based devices. Information Anywhere wireless e-mail support for Apple iPhon e is expected to be available in 2008.
