Al DiGuido, formerly Epsilon Interactive’s CEO, is back in the game after being named CEO of e-mail marketing services firm Zustek Corporation.
The announcement follows Zustek’s acquisition by Investcorp Technology Partners, a private equity investor in small and midsize technology businesses in North America and Europe.
“In the last year, I’ve seen the evolution of e-mail into a mission-critical piece for marketers,” DiGuido said. “It is our contention that most marketers want a one-stop shop for marketing services, and we want to offer [that] to them with an integrated marketing platform.”
DiGuido comes to Zustek with more than 20 years of marketing, sales, management and operations experience, including his last post as CEO of Epsilon Interactive. Last fall, Alliance Data Systems Corp. dismissed DiGuido as CEO of its Epsilon Interactive unit within the Epsilon family, promoting CTO Ragy Thomas to the top post at the e-mail marketing and automation technologies firm.
The sudden dismissal happened as Epsilon underwent a major reorganization and acquisition spree, with $600 million in investments.
DiGuido previously headed Bigfoot Interactive and oversaw its sale two years ago to Alliance Data Systems, which bought the e-mail specialist for $120 million and renamed it Epsilon Interactive.
DiGuido said that Zustek grow its business by expanding both its technology and service offerings. There could be more acquisitions in the future for the firm, as it plans to build out a one-stop digital marketing shop.
