Yahoo yesterday launched a rich media shopping site labeled ShoppingVision in preparation for the holiday season.
Shopping Vision, which can be accessed at http://shoppingvision.yahoo.com, enables consumers to view streaming video content product reviews, as well as to research and buy featured merchandise through a traditional Web browser. The service also enables consumers to manage their Yahoo accounts via a connection to Yahoo Wallet.
Yahoo has signed agreements with ValueVision International, an online and offline home shopping network, and TechTV, an online and offline digital technology shopping and community site, to provide merchandise and product reviews for the new site. In addition to providing content, ValueVision will advertise throughout Yahoo Shopping and in the jewelry/watches and computers/electronics category of Yahoo Auctions.
ShoppingVision currently features tips for buying DVD players, new games and toys for the holiday season and packages on specific products, such as scooters.
