The Association for Interactive Media is giving merchants and marketers three extra weeks this year to promote e-commerce confidence.
AIM yesterday reported that the association and its partners, including AltaVista, will launch their SmartOnlineShopping.org campaign Nov. 6.
The main goal of the consumer-oriented site, which was not up yesterday evening, is to promote confidence in e-commerce. It will serve as an educational tool by informing consumers about customer service issues, promoting the advantages of online shopping and offering consumer tips on how to protect online privacy.
AIM members will populate the program with product offers in up to 10 categories on the site.
HolidayShoppingWeek.com, a similar attempt launched last holiday season, included 75 merchant partners and drew more than 600,000 impressions between Thanksgiving and Dec. 25.
