Bounty Group Holdings, a division of Snyder Communications Inc., Bethesda, MD, won a contract to maintain an Internet marketing channel for the U.K. subsidiary of food product leviathan H.J. Heinz Co.
The Heinz Direct site, located at www.heinz-direct.co.uk, tempts shoppers with the Pittsburgh company’s most popular consumer goods. Using Bounty’s encrypted electronic mail order and fulfillment services, the site offers delivery within three to five days. The size of the account was not disclosed.
To commemorate its launch, the site currently sells a “grocery hamper” — a basket filled with selections of the company’s most popular products — and a “baby hamper,” which contains foods, drinks and other products designed for babies from four months. Though the site offers delivery worldwide, prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Shoppers who enter their names and e-mail addresses can order multi-packs of most of the products in the hampers.
Known primarily for its focus on telemarketing, direct marketing services firm Snyder has won a series of recent web-based development contracts with research and engineering concern Science Applications International Corp., U.K.-based supermarket operator J. Sainsbury PLC and Midlands Electricity, among others.
