The Aegis Group has acquired Thailand-based search marketing agency Globlet for an undisclosed amount.
After Globlet’s staff is trained and certified, the agency will become part of the Isobar-owned network of iProspect search marketing agencies, the company said. According to the Aegis Group, Isobar’s parent company, Globlet’s gross assets are worth £0.1 million.
Globlet — which will be rebranded as iProspect Thailand — currently provides search engine marketing, online advertising and Web design and development to its local clients, which include the Thailand Toyota Club, Bangmod Hospital, Shinawatra University and the Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort and Spa, according to its Web site.
The Globlet acquisition will reinforce the marketing communications group’s existing position in Thailand, the company said. In 2005, the Aegis Group acquired the Thailand-based interactive agency Digithais, which is now part of the Isobar network.
The Aegis Group did not respond to requests for comment by press time. However, Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis, said in a statement, “Its conversion to iProspect Thailand will expand our Asian iProspect office network — already in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia — as we establish iProspect as the leadership brand for global paid and natural search worldwide.”
