WebJet, an Australian online travel agency, has chosen e-mail marketing services firm StrongMail Systems Inc. to run its e-mail marketing program.
Like Travelocity and Expedia, Webjet provides travel products including airline tickets, car rentals and room stays at more than 50,000 hotels worldwide. WebJet sends marketing e-mails and event-triggered transactional e-mails to confirm travel purchases and information requests. The travel service’s new partnership with StrongMail is aimed to help improve data security, e-mail deliverability and scalability for its marketing and transactional e-mail programs.
“WebJet will be sending out newsletters and alerts about special fares as they come up,” said Jessica Nusbaum, director of Asia Pacific for StrongMail.
This new partnership comes as StrongMail is growing its service internationally. Last year the e-mail service provider opened an office in the UK in a move to grow its presence in Europe and has spent the last year doing seminars and attending trade shows including Ad:tech in the UK and Australia.
StrongMail has also partnered with FusionWare as a reseller of its e-mail services. The technology firm has offices in the US, Canada and Australia. Melbourne, Australia-based TaguchiMail is also selling StrongMail services. Though nothing is set in stone yet, StrongMail plans to open an office in the Asia Pacific region.
“We’re seeing a lot of demand for e-mail marketing in Asia Pacific these days,” Nusbaum added.
