As part of an ongoing string of new product initiatives and existing service enhancements, Acxiom Corp. introduced a refined client/server process that reduces turnaround time for orders and provides Internet-based reporting capabilities at the Acxiom/Direct Media Consumer Co-Op here earlier this month.
The new service, Composer Merge Purge, comes at a time when the company seems to be moving an increasing number of services through Internet access. Two months ago, it debuted the Acxiom Data Network, a subscription-based online data access system.
Composer Merge Purge targets catalogers, publishers and retailers by improving turnaround time for lists orders and providing interactive reporting through the Internet. Before this, the changes clients required about 24-hours notice for such requests — and now the service is provided in real time through the Internet.
Additionally, change of addresses are updated with greater speed to help ensure accurate list data in the merge/purge process. The new feature combines name and address standardization, postal coding and change-of-address processing through the United States Postal Service's National Change of Address and Delivery Sequence. The service changes are part of the company's existing Composer List Processing Services product line.
