Adotas newsletter has staying power thanks to concise synopses

I’ve been in Internet marketing for a dozen years now, so I can’t tell you how I originally came across this newsletter from Adotas, but I have been subscribing for many years.

What I like about this newsletter is that it has a really clear, concise headline followed by enough copy to let me know if I want to read more. I like that format — I immediately know whether I’m interested in a story based on the headline and quick teaser.

Then, of course, there’s the content itself. It always seems to have very timely news about deals that are going down in the Internet marketing world, new companies, products or services or M&A activity. The industry information helps me do my job — which is keeping in front of a very rapidly moving industry — better.

The call-to-action, if you will, is you get to the end of the teaser copy, and every single article just has more. It’s ad-based business for them, so once I click through to the site they’re selling the ads. I do click on the ads once in a while.

As far as improving the newsletter, they could have featured my company more — just kidding. I get a ton of newsletters and when I was asked to choose one, I thought of some others, but this comes to me daily with news that is time-sensitive, and I don’t know of anything that I would change.
