MDC Partners has named veteran marketing executive Anne Bologna managing director. Bologna will work from the company’s New York office where she will report to Miles Nadal, chairman and CEO of MDC Partners, the company said in a Dec. 2 statement.
Bologna will be responsible for heading up several of the advertising, branding and research companies owned by the Toronto-based holding company. It is immediately unclear which of the companies she will oversee. An MDC representative was not immediately available for comment.
Prior to joining MDC, Bologna served as EVP/general manager at Cramer-Krasselt, New York. Before that she was the founding partner and CEO of Toy, an independent agency that was in business for five years and served clients such as Amazon, Budweiser, Virgin Mobile, Macy’s and Google.
Before Toy, Bologna spent two decades at Fallon where she rose from director of strategic planning in the company’s Minneapolis office to president, based in the company’s New York office, where she is credited with doubling the agency’s billings.
“We are committed to bringing in the best possible talent at all levels,” said Nadal, in a statement. “Anne brings an incredible breadth and depth of experience to her new role that will help our partners reach new levels of success.”
Bologna’s appointment comes as part of MDC’s expansion of its operating team. This includes recently hiring Brett Colbert as chief procurement officer and David Dabill as chief administrative officer.
MDC, which owns agencies including Crispin Porter + Bogusky, 72andSunny and Accent Marketing Services, has added nearly 20 partner firms to its portfolio in the last two years, creating a number of new positions.
In February, MDC bought a majority stake in Anomoly, a multidisciplinary marketing agency; the company acquired TEAM Enterprises, an experiential marketing agency in March; in May MDC bought IMS, a direct response analytics firm; and in September, MDC acquired a majority stake in healthcare marketing agency Concentric Pharma Advertising.
