AT&T hired Maria Mandel as VP of media and marketing innovation in its advanced ad solutions group, effective June 17.
She succeeded Jordan Berman, who served as VP of innovation but left the company to join MTV as SVP of integrated marketing in March. Mandel was previously senior partner and executive director of digital innovation at Ogilvy’s North American digital lab.
The telecommunications company recently re-organized the advanced ad solutions group and expanded Mandel’s role to bolster cross-media platform opportunities, said Mandel. She declined to specify the number of employees who report directly to her because she is building a team.
She is charged with working with AT&T’s product development group to build an offering that can be packaged and shopped around Madison Avenue, Mandel said. She reports to Greg McCastle, SVP of AT&T advanced ad solutions.
Mandel was hired after previously working with McCastle on the board of the Mobile Marketing Association. She is based in New York.
