Camelot Venture Group, a licensee of Sharper Image, has named former Brookstone executive Steve August SVP and CMO of the e-commerce Web site, SharperImage.com.
August will oversee all direct marketing initiatives for the online part of the Sharper Image brand, including CRM and catalog. He spent nine years at Brookstone, most recently as operating VP of customer marketing.
Bluestar Alliance, Hilco Consumer Capital and Gordon Brothers acquired Sharper Image in an auction in May 2009 after the brand declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Camelot designed the SharperImage.com and was granted rights to catalog creative and purchases, according to the company.
A Camelot representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
