AWeber, a Philadelphia-based provider of email marketing software and services, announced July 13 that it would be integrating Call Loop mobile messaging platform, says Hunter Boyle, senior business development manager at AWeber.
Chris Brisson, CEO of Florida-based Call Loop, says that the integration will allow AWeber customers to build a mobile messaging list alongside existing AWeber email marketing list. The integration makes building the mobile easier, and allows for more comprehensive multi-channel messaging between email and mobile marketing, he says.
“[Call Loop has] been using our system for a while,” AWeber’s Boyle says. “We had talked with them a little bit about what they were trying to do to get SMS technology in the hands of more small- and mid-sized businesses. That is a huge portion of our customer base.”
Brisson adds that for many SMBs, text messaging helps improve customer acquisition in part because text messages have open rates of up to 97%. “Customers can now combine and create a complete, automated multi-channel marketing system with email, voice and text,” he says.
Boyle says that many direct marketers are wary of mobile marketing, but that they shouldn’t be because, when fully integrated, it can be effective in reaching customers. “Quite frankly, it’s a channel that is a natural fit with email, because that’s the number one thing people are doing on their smart phones: checking email,” Boyle says.
