Who it is: Syl Saller, promoted to CMO of  Diageo

What’s her role: She will oversee company innovation.

Where she was prior: Previously, Saller spent eight years as Diageo’s global innovation director. Before that, she was a marketing development director for Allied Domecq Retail.

Why she was appointed: “Syl brings a great breadth of marketing and general management experience to her position,” says COO Ivan Menezes.

Who it is: Corey Eng, named CMO of GTT, an Ethernet networking company

What’s his role: Eng will be in charge of product management, marketing, and communications.

Where he was prior: Eng was most recently VP of marketing for Comcast Business Services. Before that, he held marketing positions at Nextel and Broadwing.

Why he was appointed: “Corey’s expertise in using client insight to define our EtherCloud service offerings will position the company to successfully achieve our aggressive growth plans,” says CEO and President Rick Calder.

Who it is: Will McInnes, appointed CMO of Brandwatch

What’s his role: McInnes will develop a marketing organization to support the company’s global growth strategy. 

Where he was prior: Previously, McInnes was a managing director for the social consultancy NixonMcInnes, and had been a partner of Brandwatch.

 Why he was appointed: “Will is one of the smartest and most inspiring people working in social media today,” says CEO Giles Palmer.

Who it is: Claire Fennessey, named CMO of Clarus Marketing Group

What’s her role: Fennessey will lead the company’s sales and marketing teams.

Where she was prior: Fennessey most recently served as president of Palm Publishing. Before that, she held senior management positions at Entitle and Direct Group. 

Why she was appointed: “Claire’s experience in our space; her knowledge in sales, subscription marketing, building digital product, and client services; and her background in building and running companies will be a huge asset for us as we continue to grow,” says CEO Tom Caporaso.

Who it is: Masao Kodama, appointed CMO of SATO, a software supplier

What’s his role: Kodama will oversee the company’s marketing and branding functions and strategies. 

Where he was prior: Before joining SATO, Kodama worked with Nissan in marketing, branding and sales promotion fields.

 Why she was appointed: “With his extensive experience and expertise, Mr. Kodama is a great fit for the position of CMO,” says President and CEO Kaz Matsuyama
