Coldwell Banker Real Estate has launched a mobile site specifically tailored for the iPhone.
When visited on an iPhone, www.coldwellbanker.com allows users to search property listings and estimate home values without downloading software.
“The idea of showing listings on only our [non-mobile] site is so 2007,” said Mike Fischer, SVP of marketing for Coldwell Banker, “We want to reach people where they are so they can access our information anytime, anywhere.”
Within the search function, users can enter city, state and price, and filter by number of bedrooms or bathrooms. Once a property is selected, the consumer has the option to call the agent assigned to that property directly, using the handset.
“The old way of finding information on a property was getting the paper out of the plastic container on a yard sign,” Fischer said. “Now if you see a property you can enter the ZIP code and find property [on the iPhone] within seconds. The beauty is that it eliminates a lot of the downtime between your interest in a property and your ability to contact an agent.”
In April, Coldwell Banker put its listings in GPS devices through an exclusive feed to Dash Navigation in-car systems, which gives drivers listings, maps of and directions to properties.
