Crate and Barrel has renewed its contract with Alliance Data Systems Corp., signing a multiyear agreement to continue receiving private label credit card services.
Alliance’s work for the home furnishing chain continues a relationship that began in 2002 and includes account acquisition and activation for branded Crate and Barrel credit cards, receivables funding, card authorization, card issuance, statement generation and remittance processing. The company will also provide customer service and marketing services for Crate and Barrel.
“If you’re a customer interested in Crate and Barrel products, you can open up a Crate and Barrel credit card, and Alliance is providing the program and the actual card issuance process,” explained Shelley Whiddon, director of external communications. Alliance. “We provide the marketing and customer care associated with the card program, so when you get the monthly billing statement, we have the ability to customize those based on purchase behaviors.”
Alliance’s services apply to Crate and Barrel’s in-store, Web and catalog sales channels.
Crate and Barrel’s catalogs are sent to more than 15 million households, and sales in 2007 exceeded $1.3 billion. Crate and Barrel could not be reached for comment.
