DM Revenues Behind Other Divisions, May & Speh Says

Although May & Speh Inc., Downers Grove, IL, recently reported record revenues for the second quarter of fiscal 1998, its direct marketing services revenues lagged behind other divisions.

Direct marketing services revenues for the second quarter ending March 31 rose 23.4 percent to $16.3 million, from $13.2 million for the same period a year ago. IT outsourcing revenues were $11.8 million, up 38.7 percent from $8.5 million during the same period.

Total revenues reached $28.1 million in the second quarter, an increase of 29.4 percent from $21.7 million a year ago. Net income increased 48.5 percent to $3.6 million, from $2.4 million a year ago.

“Our results reflect the continued success of our strategy to provide integrated solutions to our clients,” said Peter I. Mason, chairman, president and chief executive officer of May & Speh. “By investing in skilled personnel and today's newest technology, we have developed the infrastructure and expertise necessary to expand and enhance our services and solutions to existing and prospective clients. Last month, we raised $115 million in capital to support our growth strategy.”

Commenting on the future, Mason said: “The outlook for both direct marketing services and IT outsourcing is very bright. Our introduction of DataScore last week further enhances our ability to provide credit-driven organizations with integrated solutions for their customer-management needs. Our new IT outsourcing relationships provide outstanding growth in this business.”

May & Speh is a technology-based information management services company that focuses on direct marketing services and information technology outsourcing services.
