EliteEmail marketing software and Unspam Registry Services Inc. have teamed up in a move to protect children from adult-oriented e-mails.
With the new partnership, EliteEmail clients operating in adult-targeted markets can check their lists against state registries, and all children can be removed from the databases automatically.
The EliteEmail marketing software powers e-mail marketing campaigns for a variety of clients, including clients that promote wineries, tobacco shops and other adult-oriented businesses. Recently, states including Michigan and Utah have instituted laws that prohibit these businesses from sending commercial e-mails to children.
In July 2005, Michigan and Utah became the first to establish children’s protection registries. These registries are secure collections of e-mail addresses, instant messenger IDs and other types of addresses that are protected from receiving adult-oriented messages.
EliteEmail is the latest partner to join the Registry Compliance program, which works to make sure that e-mail senders comply with the various child protection state registry laws.
