Enforma National Products Inc, makers of the highly successful “Enforma System” DRTV weight-loss product, settled with the FTC yesterday over charges that its infomercials and Internet advertisements contain false and unsubstantiated claims. The Enforma System’s slogan, “With Enforma, you can eat what you want and never, ever, ever have to diet again,” is just one example of what got the company into hot water. The settlement calls for Enforma to desist from using any further claims, to further quantify any claims it continues to make and to pay the FTC $10 million to be paid back to consumers or if that is unpractical, to the U.S. Treasury.
