Engauge nets Spunlogic

Marketing agency Engauge has acquired Spunlogic in a bid to enhance its digital capabilities.

Engauge, formed by Halyard Capital and Stan Rapp in August 2007, now comprises ad agency Engauge Communication, database and direct marketing arm Engauge Direct and Spunlogic, which it has rebranded as Engauge Digital. The company also owns StreamRight, a digital technology development firm.

“We spoke with many independent interactive agencies and found that Spunlogic consistently offered outstanding creative development of interactive solutions and advanced digital technology,” Stan Rapp, Engauge chairman, said in an e-mail interview. Calling Spunlogic “a perfect fit” with Engauge, Rapp added, “Spunlogic will be Engauge’s digital center of excellence, and will become part of a new entrepreneurial venture that brings together world-class capabilities in digital, direct and branding.”

Engauge declined to discuss terms of the transaction, but did say that principals of Spunlogic are now shareholders in Engauge.

Jeff Hilimire, CEO of Spunlogic, is now serving as president of Engauge Digital. Rapp said that no lay-offs would result from the acquisition and that Spunlogic will retain its office in Atlanta.

Spunlogic’s clients, which include The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, the State of Georgia and UPS, will join the Engauge client roster alongside existing clients International Delight, Land O’Lakes, TiVo and others.
