Relationship marketing firm Epsilon expanded its direct mail production capacity at its plant in St. Louis with the installation of two new printers and a new tabber, the company said yesterday.
Epsilon installed two new Oce Pagestream 466 printers and one Kirk Rudy 535 Tabmaster. The upgrade increases resolution quality of the plant's output and improves efficiency, according to Epsilon.
The Oce system can print at 600 dots per inch, compared with the plant's capability of 300 dpi prior to the new equipment, and adds roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet capabilities in addition to the plant's fan-folded form capability.
Epsilon is using the Kirk Rudy 535 Tabmaster to place tabs, stamps and Post-It notes to direct mailers. The system can affix 30,000 tabs per hour, and Epsilon is using it to affix 1.8 million Post-It notes to letters for a client.
