First Union, Charlotte, NC, said yesterday it will build an online market for small and midsize companies. The site will help small businesses reach new customers, contact suppliers and save money on purchases. The service will allow small businesses to combine their purchasing power for better rates and will allow them to shop and buy items online. A pilot site will be launched in the third quarter the company said.
