John Paulson, the head of G2 Interactive, has been promoted to the newly created position of CEO at G2 US.
Paulson, who has held management positions at DDB Worldwide, Grey Interactive and J. Walter Thompson, will be responsible for G2’s 10 US offices, which offer direct, interactive, shopper, design, promotional marketing and data consulting services. He will report directly to Joe Celia, global chairman and CEO at G2.
Paulson is “the right leader to further develop the delivery of our multidisciplinary offer in the US,” Celia said in a statement.
“Throughout my career I’ve looked for opportunities which allow me to gain experience across multiple competencies – starting with media, then on to traditional, digital and direct marketing,” Paulson said, in a statement. “What brought me back to G2 two years ago was my belief in the G2 vision. I saw a huge opportunity to bring my experience to bear on delivering multi-channel communications that build our clients’ brands and business. Consumers don’t think of brands in the context of one communication channel, nor do we. At G2 that insight is what drives us.”
G2 also said that Wendy Lurrie has joined the agency from Draftfcb as president of its relationship marketing unit, G2 Direct & Digital. Lurrie previously held executive positions at Grey Direct, the predecessor to G2 Direct & Digital. At Draftfcb, she was general manager of the New York office and chief marketing and strategy officer. She assumes the role occupied by Larry Kimmel, who will be moving to G2’s headquarters to work with the management team on global network development.
G2 is part of the WPP Group of companies. Its clients include Adobe, The Coca-Cola Company, Heineken and Kodak.
