Google has unexpectedly released Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3.1 for Pixel devices. This update aims to fix several bugs before the public release of Android 15 QPR1 in December. The update is only available for Pixel devices still running Android 15 QPR1 Beta.
Google ended the QPR1 Beta program for Pixels in late October and started the QPR2 and Android 16 Developer Preview since then. However, QPR1 Beta 3.1 includes important fixes. The update fixes an issue where tapping media controls closed the notification shade but did not open the app.
It also resolves a problem where long-pressing the device entry icon did not work when many notifications overlapped the lock icon. The update addresses volume control issues for some Bluetooth devices.
Android 15 Beta bug fixes
It corrects a glitch that caused the Material You wallpaper-derived color options to be very similar. QPR1 Beta 3.1 fixes inconsistent sizing and styling of the scrollbar in system settings. It also addresses an issue that sometimes caused NFC payments to fail.
The update fixes a bug where Indonesian and Hebrew translations did not display correctly for apps targeting Android 14 (API level 34) or lower. It also corrects numerous issues affecting system stability, camera, connectivity, localization, accessibility, and interactivity. If your Pixel is still part of the public beta program running Android 15 QPR1 Beta, you will receive the OTA update to Beta 3.1. Devices already on QPR2 or Android 16 DP1 are not eligible for this build.
However, if your device is still on Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3, exiting and re-enrolling in the beta program can enable downloading QPR1 Beta 3.1. Alternatively, users can manually sideload the Beta 3.1 OTA if needed. Keep your devices updated to benefit from these critical fixes and enhance your Pixel experience.
